Poe’s Messenger

Obsidian shadows twisting,
 turning against the soft blue sky,
in the corn silk gleam of the noon day sun.
Elegance in motion, gracefully they float together;
a soft convergence, a secret mid flight kiss,
between raven winged lovers.

I watch Poe’s deadly messenger;
head bobbing, wings extended in display,
cautiously stalking his achromatic seductress.
A peck, jump, he squawks loves sweet serenade,
She turns and looks….

then flies away.
