Our Eternal Slumber

Where are you, my dearest love?
Your voice is in the air.
I feel a warm and tender touch,
that only lovers share.

Come to me, feel the fervor
of my wanting heart.
Though the night may hold you close,
it can’t keep us apart.

See him now; sweet death, is stalking,
knocking at the door.
These shaking hands reach for him;
my heart beats nevermore.

With you, my love, I’ve come to rest;
no longer shall I roam.
Embraced by peaceful slumber,
the earth is now our home.

  1. I love the transition from a fresh and light beignning to the dark and much more siniter ending. Another great poem.
