Poe’s Messenger

Obsidian shadows twisting,
 turning against the soft blue sky,
in the corn silk gleam of the noon day sun.
Elegance in motion, gracefully they float together;
a soft convergence, a secret mid flight kiss,
between raven winged lovers.

I watch Poe’s deadly messenger;
head bobbing, wings extended in display,
cautiously stalking his achromatic seductress.
A peck, jump, he squawks loves sweet serenade,
She turns and looks….

then flies away.

Tender Flesh

I hear a whisper in the dark;
a brush against my ear.
His body shudders with delight;
my heart is filled with fear.

“You cannot hide from me, my love,
I’ll find you in the dark.
How sweet the smell of tender flesh,
and fear inside your heart.

Your tortured soul sings to me;
passioned fires grow.
My razor tongue against your lips;
a taste I want to know.

Now cry for me, my dearest love,
it makes you taste so sweet.
I’ll take a kiss from crimson lips,
before I start to eat.”

pillars stand steadfast, undaunted,
on barren lands.

Diamonds on the Water

In the late afternoon, near twilight of the day,
you can find them dancing, bobbing on the surface;
shining brighter than any sun.
Their rhythmic motions call to me,
whispering sweet melodies of life and love;
bringing me back to that tormented day,
when the jewels first revealed themselves.

In that lonesome twilight, my life unraveled.
The shimmering liquid jewels came to me,
breaking free from their briny prison;
Dancing across the cerulean blue waters
with graceful fluidity, reviving my soul.
I watched in childlike wonder,
as my jewels sparkled in the ever setting sun;
that moment when the day kissed the night.

I return to my precious jewels on cold, windy days;
when life is most unforgiving.
Searching again for that salvation of light,
enlivening my soul with their heaven sent splendor.
Reminding me of the wonderment life holds;
hidden treasures of love, floating
on the unquiet sea of the everyday .
Look there, in the now setting sun and you will see,
the glistening majesty of my Diamonds on the Water.

I hope you enjoyed my #oneshotwednesday post.

The Hunger

Verse 1
Feel the pit inside my soul
No one’s here to make it whole
When the darkness grows inside
There’s nowhere left on earth to hide
Trapped within a moonstone night
Hell bound in a soulless flight

Chorus
It consumes me, the hunger grows
How to stop it, no one knows
Look inside my blackened heart
Watch it pull my soul apart
There I lie in the dying rage
See my blood upon the page
Grabbing for your sweet release
One last thing to feed the beast

Verse 2
There’s a fire in your eyes
Comes to me as no surprise
Now consumed by your desires
Find pain that takes you higher
Lost within this endless hell
No one left to hear you yell

Chorus
It consumes me, the hunger grows
How to stop it, no one knows
Look inside my blackened heart
Watch it pull my soul apart
There I lie in the dying rage
See my blood upon the page
Grabbing for your sweet release
One last thing to feed the beast

Bridge
Can you hear my soulful cries?
Splitting through the crimson skies.
I turn away so you can’t see
The pain inside that’s killing me

Chorus
It consumes me, the hunger grows
How to stop it, no one knows
Look inside my blackened heart
Watch it pull my soul apart
There I lie in the dying rage
See my blood upon the page
Grabbing for your sweet release
One last thing to feed the beast

Our Eternal Slumber

Where are you, my dearest love?
Your voice is in the air.
I feel a warm and tender touch,
that only lovers share.

Come to me, feel the fervor
of my wanting heart.
Though the night may hold you close,
it can’t keep us apart.

See him now; sweet death, is stalking,
knocking at the door.
These shaking hands reach for him;
my heart beats nevermore.

With you, my love, I’ve come to rest;
no longer shall I roam.
Embraced by peaceful slumber,
the earth is now our home.

Twinkling Eyes

Twinkling eyes in the night,
sure to cause your heart a fright.
Along the ground, they do lay;
you cannot see them in the day.

Razor talons brush your feet,
there you lie along the street.
Knowing that the end is near,
be careful they can smell your fear.

Crawling from the depths below,
twinkling eyes move in slow.
Feasting on your supple flesh,
they like it when the meat is fresh.

Torment

The words are out to get me,
They’re dancing in my head.
I’m sure they won’t be happy,
until I’m filled with dread.

The pen is my protector,
releasing what’s inside.
Inked salvation, in my hands
On paper, words can’t hide.

And so you see my torment,
trapped upon the page.
Lost in sweet oblivion,
in silence, words still rage.

The Muse

The Muse was painted primarily using eyeshadow and liner.

Watching Bubbles Fall

I watch the bubbles bouncing
on the tabletop.
A giggle dances through the air
as they all go pop!

Pretty pinks and purples
shining in the light.
They land upon my little nose
what a silly sight.

When the day is at an end
and my mommy calls.
I’ll tell her all the fun I had
watching bubbles fall.

Spirited Love

Weep not for me, you silly child,
for still I linger near.
A gentle touch upon the skin
soft whispers in your ear.

Nightly dreams awaken me
In darkness, I do hide.
Look for me when daylight fades
standing by your side.

In sweet slumber we shall dance
Our bodies intertwined.
Struggle not, my dearest love
your soul shall soon be mine.

Cunning Cruelty

Crescendo! Clouds assail the mountainside
Dark, stalking, ever searching for the perfect moment
Hiding is useless for they are cunning
The clouds will find you!

Dancing on the edge of space and time
Their shapes will mesmerize and enchant you
Don’t be fooled, for that is the game they play
I said the clouds are cunning.

Unwittingly, you call them near
Begging for release from the flames
But the clouds are only taunting
Their cruelty is revealed.

Death pursues those who cannot wait
While thunderous sounds shake the horizon
Do you hear them laughing?
I said the clouds are cruel.
