Twinkling Eyes

Twinkling eyes in the night,
sure to cause your heart a fright.
Along the ground, they do lay;
you cannot see them in the day.

Razor talons brush your feet,
there you lie along the street.
Knowing that the end is near,
be careful they can smell your fear.

Crawling from the depths below,
twinkling eyes move in slow.
Feasting on your supple flesh,
they like it when the meat is fresh.

  1. dark and sinister, yet the subject could be something as ordinary as rats. Another great Poem

  2. Poetic and dark. Leaves a lot to interpretation while creating a chilling story. Love it.
